  1. Prevent pest naturally with non-toxic methods, so if your family has a garden try to grow organic plants and do not use pesticides or herbicides for overall health.
  2. Keep indoor air clean by being smoke free, and using essential oils for air fresheners.
  3. Use environmentally friendly cleaning products that are non-toxic and non-aerosol sprays.
  4. Get non-toxic art supplies for your children.
  5. Warm your children's food in glass containers only if using a microwave.
  6. Have fun & practice the 3 R's with your children ~ reduce, reuse and recycle.
  7. Teaching children to compost leftovers can be quite educational.
  8. Parents can participate in reusing clothes for children that no longer fit.
  9. To avoid possible lead exposure from water lines, use only cold water for drinking and cooking after running the water for 10-30 seconds or until it feels noticeably colder.
  10. Thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables to avoid possible exposure to pesticides and take the opportunity to educate children about the importance of doing so.
  11. Try not to keep your car engine running at home and school parking zones.
  12. Use non-toxic biodegradable household cleaning products to disinfect surfaces, toys, dishes, floors, cloths and carpets. Make sure you store cleaning products where children cannot access them.
  13. Encourage others to share information about being eco-healthy, so we all can learn together to help make the world a healthier place.
  14. Only use low VOC household paint and do not paint when children are present.
  15. To avoid possible lead exposure, do not use imported, old or handmade pottery to cook, store or serve food or drinks.
  16. Securely store and recycle all used batteries and fluorescent light bulbs.
  17. Choose furniture that is made out of real wood rather then particle board.
  18. Carpets can contain formaldehyde so we discourage wall-to-wall carpeting.
  19. Avoid toys made out of soft plastic vinyl. Instead, buy those labeled "PVC-free"
  20. RECYCLE all paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum, and plastics.
  21. Use non-toxic techniques both inside and outside your home to prevent and control pests (both insects and weeds).
  22. Use Eco-healthy bug-spray & sunscreen on your children~ the skin is the largest organ, so using a healthier product will mean a healthier child.
  23. Stay away from artificial sweeteners like aspartame & saccharin. 
  24. Use digital or non-mercury thermometers.
